glass or no glass on cross stitched pictures

When I have valuable cross stitch, I always use glass to protect the work. I have Greek cross stitched frames that I received from my mother that date 30 years back. You will be amazed how well glass preserves the work. Make sure the stitch work is not sealed from the back of the frame so that air freely moves in and out. Sometimes depending on the location where you will hang the frame, you may want to use non-glare glass rather than regular. This is a more expensive glass but it will significantly reduce the gIare. However, some of the vivid colors or liveness of your picture may be reduced too. I will gladly take some photos of the old frames that I mentioned above to show you. Just let me know. Happy stitching and framing!
